The Art of Being Still by Author_Joanne_Reed

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you may have seen two recent articles Do you know who you are and Why People Do the Things They Do? Both sound like easy questions, but if you spend a little time reflecting on them, the answers may not be so obvious and are what occupied Ancient Greek philosophers for most of their time. In this new article The Art of Being Still, my premise is that you won’t know who you are if your mind is in a constant state of agitation and occupied by mindless distractions.Too often our minds are caught in a cycle of stimulus and responses; The Art of Being Still may be a helpful read to help find some answers as the foundation of clarity is an uncluttered mind. Often, the easiest way we can figure out who we are is in moments of solitude; but too many people have a fear of solitude. Some thinkers have suggested that the fear of solitude is at the root of the fear of oneself.

practicing the art of being still, Practicing The Art of Being Still Solitude vs. Loneliness To be alone is sometimes a frightening idea and many people would do anything to avoid it. Human beings are social creatures by nature and unfit to endure extreme cases of isolation. If we are alone for too long our mental faculties can degrade leading to a state of insanity and deep despair. The use of solitary confinement and exile are effective tools of punishment. But in the modern-day, our fears are not restricted to an extreme case of isolation, rather many of us fear being alone for any period of time and being alone is something to be avoided at all costs. Not only are we afraid of being alone individually, but we are also afraid of those around us who we seem to be very happy in their own company. We see them as dangerous, unproductive, unsocial, or maybe even unwanted. Henri David Thoreau spent 2 years living alone in a cabin in the woods. He found this experience powerful and insightful. For Thoreau, solitude did not mean isolation; he was not a social hermit, he had many friends whom he invited from time to time to his cabin retreat, but he rejoiced and thrived in the luxury of the quiet time that living alone in the woods granted him. Solitude was more about introspection and self-observation.

Author joanne reed this is your quest the art of being still
cabin true solitude. In true solitude you will not find loneliness. Thoreau’s period of solitude gave him the space he needed to think, he described his experience as follows: “The challenge of living alone was really just learning how to become a great companion to oneself. In true solitude, you will not find loneliness, but self-communion, a coming together of the light and the dark aspect of yourself. People are afraid to speak to themselves. They are unable to trust the voice within and instead are persuaded to seek validation and sanction from others. Deep personal introspection is the true gift of the prosperous man and one that the majority have entirely avoided.” Solitude & Intuition Moments of solitude also allow us to be more tuned-in to our intuition. Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. Intuition usually involves judgment, a ‘yes or no,’ but it can also give us insight into what the solution is. Intuitions and insight can come to us through many forms, a deep inner feeling, an image, a word, an inspirational thought, or from a book. Whatever forms they take; it always gives us a deep sense of inner knowing that brings clarity and joy. If we are operating in a state of constant agitation, hustling and bustling constantly, we will not be tuned-in the right frequency to pick up those insights and receive such gifts. Moments of solitude put us in the right state of mind, ready to accept the gift of insight with gratitude, humility, and appreciation. The Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky claims that: “Solitude for the mind is as essential as food is for the body. In solitude we can forge our character away from the often-constricted external demands of others and maintain our independence in the relationships we cultivate thus ensuring we do not, like many today, lose our identity in them.” Stillness Stillness means to be steady while the world spins around you. Socrates tells us that philosophy begins with wonder, and wonder is rooted in stillness. Other philosophers from various schools of thought have come to a similar conclusion, namely that the ultimate destination in our life journey is to master the stillness that is required to become master of our own life. Ryan Holiday’s book Stillness is the Key, describes the art of being still and how important stillness is for self-mastery, discipline and focus in our modern noisy world. Stillness is an attainable path to enlightenment, excellence, greatness, and happiness, it can inspire new ideas, sharpens perspective and illuminate the mind. Stillness slows down the ball down so we can hit it, it generates a vision, helps us resist the passion of the mob, and makes space for gratitude and wonder. Stillness allows us to persevere, to succeed, a key to unlock the insights of genius. Stillness is not some soft, new-age nonsense or the domain of monks or sages but in fact an essential component to peak performance in every domain of life.

muddy waters Ryan Holiday’s book, Stillness Is The Key Among the various philosophical and religious schools, such as Buddhism, Stoicism, Epicureanism, Christianity, Hinduism, etc., it is impossible not to find a philosophy that does not venerate inner peace or stillness: “When all the wisdom of the ancient world agrees on something, only a fool will decline to listen.”

– Ryan Holiday Paradoxes of Stillness A paradox of stillness is that it requires you to think very deeply, but also clear your mind. In fact, this is not a paradox as once our mind is cleared and emptied insights and breakthroughs can occur. “Muddy waters clear themselves through stillness; if we let them settle the truth will be revealed to us.”

Author joanne reed this is your quest the art of being still muddy waters Muddy Waters become clear through stillness Another paradox is that stillness does not require that you stop moving or even to be somewhere quiet, stillness can be cultivated while chaos swirls around you. Those moments, in a busy shopping mall or airport, when somehow all the external noise is filtered out and you feel a sense of calm and can focus on what is in your control, that, is stillness. The ability to intentionally find stillness, in a busy environment or just by shutting your eyes and focusing your thoughts and attention on one thing, is important because we have to move and live our lives; intentional stillness takes effort. Active stillness is effective because we can’t simply think our way to peace or pray our body into better conditions. Stillness is an important tool on your journey to find clarity. The ability to see clearly, not only when you are meditating, but in the midst of conflict when you are frustrated, angry or scared, will help you find a more logical, less emotional response, and give you choices to do things differently, or do nothing at all. “If solitude is the school of genius, then the crowded, busy world is the purgatory of the idiot”

– Edward Gibbon, Historian A Lesson in Stillness President John F. Kennedy once described himself as an idealist without illusions. More than 50 years after his tragic death, the American public still ranks him at the top modern American leaders. Kennedy is remembered not only for his youth and good looks but also as a crusader for social justice, a gifted orator and a peacemaker. Author Joanne reed this is your quest
the art of being still cuban missile crisis.

The Main Players in the Cuban Missile Crisis Fresh after a disastrous attempt to invade Cuba and overthrow Fidel Castro at the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban missile crisis started on 15 October 1962, when the cold war between the US and the USSR was dangerously close to becoming a hot nuclear war. The CIA identified medium to long-range Soviet ballistic nuclear missiles being built on the Island of Cuba, just 90 miles off the coast of Florida. The two main actors in this political drama were President John F. Kennedy; a young president, born into immense privilege, with almost no executive leadership under his belt and, on the other side, Nikita Khrushchev, a much older man, born into a modest family and a veteran of the communist party. The fate of millions worldwide depended on these two men. Kennedy’s advisors wanted to destroy the missiles site followed by a full-scale invasion of Cuba, tremendous pressure was put on Kennedy to act quickly and decisively as every second wasted risked the security and reputation of the US. Kennedy unwilling to be pressured into making a decision that was not thought through (like the Bay of Pigs fiasco), used stillness to pause, reflect, understand the bigger picture before deciding on his next move. Kennedy had recently read Barbara Tuchman’s book The Guns of August, a book about the beginning of World War I, which imprinted on his mind the image of overconfident world leaders rushing their way into a conflict, that once started they couldn’t stop. Kennedy recalled a passage from another book he read by strategist B. H. Liddell on nuclear strategy: “keep strong if possible. In any case, keep cool. Have unlimited patience. Never corner an opponent and always assist him to save face. Put yourself in his shoes, so as to see through his eyes. Avoid self-righteousness like the devil, nothing is so self-blinding.” Against the wishes of the majority of his advisors, Kennedy decided upon a less aggressive strategy, a naval blockade. This approach was to prevent further missiles from reaching Cuba, but also to give him time to think, time to communicate, and time to understand the intentions and responses from Khrushchev. On 22 October 1962, John F. Kennedy addressed the nation via live television broadcast. His message, intended for the domestic audience but also for the international public at large, demonstrated true statesmanship: “The 1930s taught us a clear lesson, aggressive conduct, if allowed to go unchecked and unchallenged, ultimately leads to war… We will not prematurely or unnecessarily risk the costs of worldwide nuclear war in which even the fruits of victory would be ashes in our mouth; but neither will we shrink from that risk at any time it must be faced. ”The peaceful resolution required concessions and a respect for humanity from both sides, but a remarkable fact about the Crisis is how calm Kennedy remained. During the tensest moments, Kennedy would seek solace in the White House Rose Garden, to clear his mind and to think. After the crisis, Kennedy thanked the gardener for her important contribution. Kennedy knew the art of being still, he did not let anyone rush him into a decision or let the pressure of the situation cloud his judgment or deter him from doing the right thing. During those times, he was the stillest guy in the room. Summary Our paths to stillness will be unique, but the impact should be the same: calm, strength, insight, peace, happiness and clarity. Hopefully, my friend, this article demonstrates the power of solitude and of being still. It is good sometimes to let the world spin around you whilst being the stillest person in the room.

Viral Awakening

As I drive around and see all the Blossoms in bloom, I realize that nature is taking back her planet and that nature will always prevail. The Covid 19 Virus is but and an invitation to wake us up because it is shaking us up to step it up in making massive changes in all aspects of our lives.

While the virus is shutting our lives down, it is healing the planet with less pollution from us, we are seeing nature reclaim its place with the dolphins in Venice and lakes and rivers running cleanly and everyone able to breathe more fresh air.

We have learned a valuable lesson in cleanliness, the simplicity of washing our hands can save lives. We have seen the negative impact on this planet with our pollution with our cars and industries. We have had to wake up to the fact that we the humans are indeed the true virus on this planet and that we have to stop being so nonchalant and entitled and realize we created this mess, and we can with changing our ways, clean it up again.

Let us step up and show Mama Nature that we can respect this wonderful planet of her’s, and we can give back and not just take. Let us look at our opulence and re think what we eat, how much we eat, how much we buy, how much we waste.

This is a time of reflection, a time of new connections, within our selves, with each other and with this divine planet.

A Gift of time in this Isolation

With the gift of the internet, we can reach out to each other and support each other during these toubled times. We can listen (right here on this network) to the wisdom of solutions in healing us and this planet. We can enjoy our home, our family, our animals, and open up conversations that we have not had time for in the past.

I do hope we come out of this stronger, in spirit, in body, in mind, and in action, for actionisim is needed right now, and that is one of planning to live our lives in a more respectful way in all aspects of our lives.

Let us stop being the virus on this planet, and let us start looking forward to all the solutions and connections that are just waiting for us to implement.

I ask at this time for you are to stay strong, to not panic, to choose this time to look forward to living life differently and to respect and support each other while we navigate these turbulant waters. We will come out of this stronger, wiser, and with more empathy and concideration for each other and planet.

My love and support is with you always, may you step into your faith and trust we will grow stronger for this. Let us send prayers to all those on the front lines, for with out them we would not survive at all. My love goes out to all how are effected in any way, and stay strong, you are not alone.

She Was Beautiful

SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL…..

…. but she didn’t know what that meant.

When she was a little girl

they told her she was beautiful

but it had no meaning

  in her world of bicycles

        and pigtails

and adventures in make-believe.

Later, she hoped she was beautiful

   as boys started taking notice

of her friends

  and phones rang for

              Saturday night dates.

She felt beautiful on her wedding day,

     hopeful with her

new life partner by her side

but, later,

    when her children called

          her beautiful,

she was often exhausted,

     her hair messily tied back,

no make up,

    wide in the waist

        where it used to be narrow;

she just couldn’t take it in.

Over the years, as she tried,

    in fits and starts,

       to look beautiful,

   she found other things

to take priority,

    like bills

         and meals,

as she and her life partner

            worked hard

                  to make a family,

    to make ends meet,

        to make children into adults,

            to make a life.

Now,

    she sat. Alone.

Her children grown,

     her partner flown,

and she couldn’t remember

    the last time

       she was called beautiful.

But she was.

It was in every line on her face,

in the strength of her arthritic hands,

 the ampleness that had

      a million hugs imprinted

         on its very skin,

and in the jiggly thighs and

                 thickened ankles

that had run her race for her.

She had lived her life with a loving

   and generous heart,

         had wrapped her arms

      around so many to

to give them comfort and peace.

  Her ears had

             heard both terrible news

      and lovely songs,

and her eyes

      had brimmed with,

  oh, so many tears,

       they were now bright

           even as they dimmed.

She had lived and she was.

   And because she was,

        she was made beautiful.

A GOLDEN AGE?

Golden AgeA GOLDEN AGE?
• Joanna North ponders on how the old are portrayed on TV
‘I just don’t recognize these people…’

An article my Mama wrote at 81, she passed away at 95, how do we look at getting older?

Some people grow old gracefully, some grew old disgracefully and some just grow old.
I’d like to think I’m an inbetweener. Ageing is unfortunate, but natural and although we have every right to fight it, in the end I believe that it is a case of mind over matter. Once in my early forties I met up with an acquaintance three years my junior. She sighed and declared, “We have to face it Joanna, we are old now, we have to take things slowly and accept our fate.”

I fled. The loss of my husband in my mid-forties left me somewhat adrift and once the grief had been faced and stowed away I squared up to life. Years before I had made a list of places I would love to see, so I dusted it off and went. If that previously mentioned acquaintance could have seen me then, swinging from boat to boat, taking planes and trains across Europe she would have fainted.

My children also loved change and travel, so our lives took on a whole new meaning and although in the beginning we settled in Africa, by the time I was sixty, I had children with their own families in Canada, Africa and England and loved visiting them all.

Now, I have passed eighty and I am an OAP I know my life has been full of experiences but it’s not true that one can sit back and just enjoy the memories. Being old isn’t necessarily a barrel of laughs.I find myself living in England where the old are slowly but surely being vilified. They are always depicted as senile on the TV and no one seems to value what they have been or what they may have to say. We are all ‘good for a laugh’ and this spills over into the street where the old have become targets for criminals, violent attacks and even rape is shockingly common.

Well I would like to stress that I am alive and the brain is still functioning , I still like to think I have taste and an appreciation of culture and the simple things of life such as my flower garden. The soaps on TV almost show people of my age as stupid, unreasonable, difficult and oblivious to their surroundings. I hasten to say that I know a lot of people my age and not one of them is like this and although many are less agile than they would like to be, are most certainly mentally alert and good fun to know.

But does English TV shows reality? Well if Eastenders is reality I just don’t recognize these people as natural or decent or real. The hatred they all feel for each other may make for good ratings, but if I had grown up in a society as fearful and desperate as these soaps, I very much doubt I would have reached old age. Where is the laughter or joy in their TV lives. Is this what dumbing down means, to produce a life of unrelenting misery? Incredible very frank sex scenes and couplings between people with no regard for their husbands or wives or significant others will also signal to younger viewers that a loveless society is OK. We have become a nation of voyeurs.

Add to this, the endless inane games shows and manufactured pop groups, it almost seems that we are nurturing a world where talent and effort are no longer required.

The trouble is, for most of us TV is our lifeline and a window on the world but yes, I am one of those people that think that TV, ‘British TV’ was funnier 25 years ago. Certainly the repeats of the old shows seems to prove that. I do love a good mystery but even here the TV detectives seem so bogged down in their own misery, policework seems forgotten.

I read the TV guide everyday and my spirits drop – but luckily, I have good eyesight and comb the library for books every week and of course I am addicted to crosswords. But I have to admit that I do envy other cultures where the old still reside with the family and have a value in their day to day lives. I love my nieces and nephews but I so rarely see them as they grow up and make their own lives. I am here, they are far away abroad, visiting me only once a year in a crowded hectic couple of weeks. I can hardly complain, for my daughters and son all are like me and traveling, seeking adventures, fending off any suggestions of middle age.

At 81 my heart is giving out, I admit it, but as like as my mind stays sharp, life is tolerable. But what will old age be like for those who are young now? They seem to age so fast, what to grow up so fast and seem so jaded at thirty. Medical science will replace worn parts they say, but as yet there is no substitute for a cynical heart and a wasted life. The Church of England has recently admitted that they have no relevance in modern English lives and role models on television are deeply flawed. Perhaps it is true, despite living through a terrible war my generation had the best of it.
Time will tell.

Sir James Paul McCartney Turns 80

JAMES PAUL MCCARTNEY TURNS 80
• JAMES CAMPION

I FEEL OBLIGATED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY OF JAMES PAUL MCCARTNEY THE DAY AFTER I AM WRITING THIS – JUNE 18, 2022. BEYOND THE FACT THAT I HAVE NOTED CERTAIN MILESTONES FOR MANY OF POPULAR MUSIC’S GIANTS HERE OVER THE YEARS AND FOR A WHILE BECAME THE DE FACTO EULOGIST FOR TOO MANY MORE, THERE HAS BEEN A WEIRD CONNECTION I’VE HAD WITH SIR PAUL FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS.

Not the least of which having conceived a book project around his greatest song (in my humble opinion) “Hey Jude” titled Take a Sad Song – The Emotional Currency of “Hey Jude,” which was released just a few weeks ago, mere days before this momentous occasion and the actual date the man wrote the song, most likely June 29, 1968.

One of the things I learned hanging in the shadow of Paul McCartney these past years, is the importance of staying alive. For the longest time, especially after the death of his songwriting partner, the iconic and sainted John Lennon in 1980, McCartney’s significance in this little four-piece rock and roll combo he founded, the Beatles (have you heard of this?) was greatly and woefully diminished. Living was a bad career move for Macca. At first. Now it turns out having several lives after you’ve peaked at 26 years-old is a good thing. And an argument can be made that now that Paul has managed to make eighty and has completed his tour triumphantly in front of eighty-thousand or so fans in a massive stadium here in N.J. last evening, it was a tremendous career move. Not to mention a good personal one, because, you know, otherwise…

Makes sense that Paul McCartney is still with us. I mean, what sixteen year-old boy – music-obsessed, sex fiend, ego loon – takes the time to write “When I’m Sixty-Four?” Then, instead of forgetting he ever did such a thing put it on an album (Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – have you heard of this?) that came out eight years later when he was just twenty-four. The man had a plan. And it has gone way past sixty-four. If my math is correct, sixteen years past. The age he was when…

Okay, so Paul has lived and has made a lot of music. And as I write in my book, people seem to like this music. Some stats for these songs that Paul’s come up with – composed with and without some notable collaborators like the aforementioned Lennon (wowza) and Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash and Kanye West to name a few – include thirty-two that have gone to #1 in the United States and/or in the United Kingdom. A staggering 129 of his songs have charted in the United Kingdom, ninety-one reaching the Top 10. He is the Guinness Book of World Records’ Most Successful Songwriter of All Time. “No one else.” I wrote, “is remotely in this stratosphere.”

Paul McCartney might be the most prolific and influential songwriter of popular music ever. He is Gershwin and Porter and Ellington and Berlin and all those other guys and then some. Paul, as I discovered also in my research, is song. He has been song, and he will forever be song. I think it is possible if you look up the word “song” in Webster’s it might have Paul’s smiling face next to it. There is no daylight between a hummable tune and James Paul McCartney.

Oh, I also found out during this book journey that apparently the Campion men over a century-plus were fellow Liverpudlians who married a lot of Irish women from across the water. This is thanx to my Little Brother, PJ, who is now the family archaist. Before this, I was merely another of these Irish/Italian types from the Bronx by way of a large boat of people. Turns out there was a large boat or two or three, there was just a Liverpudlian Campion on it.

I was already here in 1964 when the Beatles arrived via an airplane and changed the planet forever. There are pop stars and icons and then there is the inexplicable sonic boom of the Beatles, who were four scrums from that British port town that no one gave a flying fart about until they invaded every cover of everything. People coming from nowhere to dominate is the stuff of legend. And for some weird reason Paul, this old soul with his songs about retirement written before he could shave, rode it like he knew it all along. And this is the same boyish charm that pervades today. You see his glee when he performs and gets those cheers. He loves those cheers. His little dance when he stands up from the piano after serenading us with “Maybe I’m Amazed” or “Let It Be” or the next masterpiece is pure unadulterated joy. Saw him for the second time in my nearly sixty years on the planet a few weeks ago in Syracuse, NY, where my wife is from and her amazing family that is my family and where I signed my books that afternoon with his visage on the cover, and all those the years between 1964 and 1968 and 1978 and 1989 (when I first saw him at MSG) and the rest melt away into one big Macca moment.

A musician friend of mine back in the mid-eighties once mused that it is strange that anyone can do an impression of almost any rock star from the 1950s onward, except McCarney. Paul doesn’t have a distinct sound (unless you listen to Badfinger or early Billy Joel or any boy band that has existed after the Beatles) but I kind of know what he meant. He meant that Paul could be a vocalist for any time and any occasion His songs demand that his voice run the gamut. It isn’t an affect he is doing; it is Paul being song, again and again, and, blessedly, again.

So, all those year ago, and the years in between and the ones to come, are right there for Paul, who is a time machine, an indelible mark on our sense memories in sound. He brings us there, time and again, with a melody for the ages. Because he has aged.

So, fuck dying and leaving a good-looking corpse and all the bullshit about burning out and fading away.
     James Paul McCartney is eighty.
     Long may he be song.

Self Discovery is Celebrating 9 years

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy

It is hard for me to believe that I have had my own Podcast network for 9 years now. I had no idea of what I was doing when I first started out, and over the years I have created my own style in interviewing, show postings, and platforms to view and hear on. It has been quite an adventure and one I still love doing.

I have hoped to be further ahead with certain things, like my Orchard of Wisdom site and the Fund-Action program and the second book; but life has a way of either redirecting you and slowing you down, and some of those goals have not been met yet, but I do hope soon.

When I first started out I had Bill who edited my audios for me and put them up on SoundCloud, and when I ran into issues, he would help, but as of around early 2016 I was on my own and had to learn fast. Now I do all the editing, audio files, video, show postings, graphics, sharing and etc and I do my very best to give my podcast guest and representation that serves all their info and show.

I want to do more, but simple for one person there is no more time, each show is about a 5 hour production and I do anything from 4-8 shows a week, that is before the sharing. I have also created 3 more platforms. Mentorships where coaches can share their skills and program’s that serve you the audience. Practitioners, those who offer hands on programs, and Supporting the Supporters, where we support the organizations who are doing exemplary work in supporting others.

We already have on E-Book, but I hope by years end to have a collaborative book on our Forgotten Children series out too. Hopefully by the time this goes live, my new site will be up Orchard Of Wisdom where all our programs will be laid out will be up. It all depends on chiseling through some tech issues of which is not my strength.

So as I go into this new year of exploration and continue to bring you the most awesome liberating and illuminating people to inspire you, guide you and empower you, join me and help us get there even faster. I do all my shows via donation, some people are very generous, some not. A Dream Long Dreamt

quotation

Over the years I have dreamt of creating certain things, now closer to the possibility of making it happen, I am looking at the collective picture to make happen.

I believe if we bring the business world and the wellness world together in ethical, dignified, respectful, and enlightened collaboration, we would unit the good vibrations this world needs to move forward into global well-being productivity.

Back in 2001 when I started The Art of Positive Living, I desired a large old house that would provide holistic services for those willing to embrace a new path to wellness. In this house were an aromatherapy room, a massage room, a yoga room, an acupuncture room, an intuitive room, an inferred sauna room, a child care room for parents, a social guidance therapy room, and a juice bar with healthy snacks room.

It would have been members only and would have allowed 20% of its participant’s free to allow access to people like Mums, Dads, caregivers, and the homeless who need it and can’t afford it.

A dream not yet realized but still obtainable.

I also dreamt of a community where holistic, alternative lifestylers and practitioners would live and work. Not a hippie commune but a professional healing arena and training ground for people to come to in order to heal and healers to learn how to heal and grow their own businesses.

I achieved that in a different way through Self Discovery Media and Orchard of Wisdom where we have set the stage of abundant wisdom to illuminate, guide, and support people on their life’s journey.

Having now perswonally interviewed over 2800+ people who are doing great things for people in the world, I know the one thing lacking is a PLACE for like souled, minded and spirited people to come and embrace their like collaborators and expand on their personal gifts.

I have over the last 10 years, built a platform with an abundance of wisdom, skills, knowledge, and passion that will enable others to grow into their own abundance. In each show, each person interviewed is the inspiration that invites us to know that we can become the person we hope to be if we are willing to invest time, love, and energy into our own processes in life.

My philosophy is always to seed others in their own productive possibilities, which in turn helps mankind grow by building stronger communities. A portion of the overall proceeds from our pod books, shows, Mentors, Practitioners, plus, goes back into the community giving opportunities to those who need care guidance, and hope whose budget does not allow for it. This is my Fund-Action Program that will be ignited this year.

Self Discovery Media has led me to some extraordinary people doing wonderful things for the people and the planet, and as a possibility seer, I see lots of cohesive collaborations with many. BUT, if they do not see it or feel it, or do not wish to pursue it, then it is a no-go.

So I keep my fishing rod out there, always looking for those collaborations, those potential co/ventures, sponsors, and soul alignments that could propel any of us forward into that bigger picture.

Globally we are each doing our own thing, but by weaving our thread together we can have a blanket of hope, possibilities, actions and production with a solid foundation to grow and unit on.

I have asked the universe to send me such innovative active souls who share a similar vision so we may start building a foundation in which to build all those possibilities.

So far I have people who see the bigger picture and share a desire, and people who could build it, and many of those who will use it. Now like a good piece of music, we need to bring it together in harmony and produce a musical piece that inspires illuminates and invites all those who are ready to take action in building a better life for themselves and a stronger world for us all to live in.

Here I go, leap of faith, for I believe in my meaningful purpose and the journey it took to get here. I am ready to make this vision a reality, I am open to partnerships with those who share the dream and step forth in action, I am in joy to know that this will build a safe haven for all those who wish to embrace their soul, heart, spirit freedom and become part of the solution to the world’s problems.

It all starts with us, within us and because of us, let this be the platform that unites us all in unity and dignity and meaningful global purpose.

The Big D

Art by Natasha

I wrote this last year, but know someone somewhere is going through it now.

It has been a struggle in the last few days with that big D-word again, I try to ignore it, but it keeps tapping me on my shoulder. Why it is here I do not know, I work hard I believe in what I am doing, and I support people’s journies, but still, the big D sits on me now and again.

Will I ever be free of it? will I ever find my independence and value in life, or is this my journey forever? If it is, I do not complain, for as long as people need the wisdom from others’ achievements from the struggles, and life tools, I am here to celebrate them. But still, that big D sits on me bringing me down, slowing me down, telling me that this is all there is and to be of service to others is my purpose. I embrace that, I love that, but sometimes I feel that is all I am, just a service to others and not to myself. Yes, it is the big D talking, but its voice is loud and clear and at times drowns all hope out.

Maybe tomorrow will be better, maybe the big D will be gone, I will continue on for what else is there, I will not let it beat me, but strive to find joy somewhere somehow and feel it override the big D.

Although I wrote this in 2020, the big D knocks at my door from time to time. I have found ways to keep it at bay, but please never apologize for this thing called depression, for it can hit anyone of us and even at times cripple us, for a while. We can come back from it, I have time and time again and always will.

Here are some shows on Mental Health Awareness.

Mental health awareness and challenges are not one size fits all, once we understand from where it comes, understanding our mental health, and what triggers stress, anxiety, depression, and more, we are more empowered to face it and either live with it more cohesively or overcome it completely.

What is the Orchard of Wisdom

Why do we like to support those who are trying to make a difference in the lives of others? Because in doing so, we are helping people and communities from all walks of life, find their own inner self-discovery into a more enriched life of personal abundance.

How does that help the world? It uplifts us into a higher vibration of compassion, kindness, abilities, and love. When we choose to embrace the possible and stand up taller in our own lives, we are inspiring others around us to do the same. Good vibrations are in the joy of living a meaningful purposeful and in service of others’ life that truly enriches everyone.

Life has meaning when you step into love, inner love, and a love of life. So many have had major challenges in living in a life of love or even trust, and we aim to help them find that inner love and to understand just how awesome they really are. Life is happening for us, even in the unpleasant times, but when we choose to leave behind the pain suffering, and anguish, we discover that life has so much joy and love to share with us.

The incredible people that Self Discovery Orchard of Wisdom brings each week in our shows, are here to help those on a journey of self-discovery and who wish to have help in navigating that life’s journey.

Their illumination comes from the fact they have faced their fear, their obstacles and have been willing to go through the process of healing. Now in that state of beingness, they are guiding others on the same journey with the skills and tools they learned along the way so that we all can step into a life of meaningful service of love and light.

By supporting us, you are supporting them and in turn supporting our Fund-Action program, which subsidizes those who need a helping hand in their own self-discovery. I invite you to look at our Fund-Action program to see how it works.

Your monthly subscription helps us keep going with these shows, and the Podcast-Books helps us bring this book to you that will help our children.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement.
