Only the lonely

Life is a wonderful thing if you have people to share it with. Don’t put off today what needs to be done to-day. Join something…

Everyone experiences some loneliness sometimes in their lives, but there are people who experience more than their fair share. The season to be jolly is a time where people feel their loneliness the most. Everyone is talking about this event and that dinner party, and there are some with nowhere to go. These without not homeless people who have a network of friends looking out for each other, but your everyday people who you may work with or live next door to.

Loneliness is not just about a person being alone, but about feeling lonely within their lives. You may have many people among you, but you have this overwhelming feeling of detachment or loneliness. You are not a part of the group, or you are perceived as being full of life and strong and people presume that you have a life and so, therefore, do not need to include you in their activities. There is nothing worse than being lonely in a crowd or being lonely in a marriage. You want to shout out that you do not feel that you belong, but no one would understand or really care. People only want the life of the party around them, it is too much effort to bring someone out of their shell. That shy person who would love to be included, but do not feel adequate to interject into the conversation.

True friends that know you and can hear you are a rare thing nowadays. We are consumed with being popular with the crowd that to be true to your personality and show everyone who you really are, is too scary for most people. No matter how popular you are, I believe that we all feel the loneliness at some time or other. Do we always feel that we belong? Do we look around and say, “Yes, these are the people I want to be with”

Do we feel perfect strangers sometimes even if we are with friends?

For some work is their only point of contact with people, 9THIS IS ME) or they volunteer to do things to be near people and to socialize. Church is to some a way of socializing more than it is a faith or a place where they feel they belong. Married people often volunteer at events because their married lives are so lonely. You can be sitting next to a spouse and feel utterly alone many women I know go through this, I know extremely well from my own experience.

Life is busy, I have friends, I am an organizer, I organize social events, I love to be near people, but I am the one who does this, no one else does. “We can we not do it like you, so we do not do it” this is what I hear. Yes, I know, I need to get a more productive life, and I am trying too. Can anyone tell me how! Many are in this situation, bound to children, a loveless marriage and have no money. I am trying to earn money and hopefully gain more people to socialize with. I am a positive thinker, always pushing people to think positively for themselves and to believe in something. I am there for them all. But today I feel very very lonely, even in a crowd. I want to scream out “hear me I am here” I talk to people but sometimes feel this is just ‘noise.’ I am trapped in my own loneliness, and I do not necessarily know how to get out of it.

This is why so many of us are so lonely. We are trying to communicate with people around us, but no one is hearing us. We are just another thing in the room, another person to pass your woes onto, another person for you to dump your negativity on. Where is the light? The sound of uplifting voices? A valued conversation with someone who really cares a damn. Where are all the other lonely people?

Look to your right and then to your left, do you see them? Now look into your mirror, what does that tell you? Are you one of us? Or is your life full of meaningful content and valued friends? We live in a society that is detached from feeling (in case someone should hurt us) and from the fear of trust being broken (in case someone should take advantage of us). I do believe that we need to get back to a village society, where everyone looks out for each other and shares your joys and your woes.

Life is hard to living on your own. We need to start stretching out our arms to others and take them into our embrace and let them know that they are not alone. I do not mean like an interfering community where everyone gets in your business with judgment and malice, but a place where people will respect each other’s individuality and our privacy. We can be a community and respect each other’s lives, we can share and give each other strength, and we can let them know that they are not alone. We must start trusting in each other and be there for each other before the aloneness spreads to all and gets out of proportion.

Start sharing your life with people who care and start being honest with yourself and others. Rather than stand-alone, it is time to unite and to share our lives, to reach out and touch someone who makes them feel wanted and help them erase the loneliness from their lives.

Life is a wonderful thing if you have people to share it with. Do not put off today what needs to be done today. Join something; voice your feeling to friends and co-workers. Let your family know how you feel, just do not stand for loneliness; it is a very dark place to be. I know for I have been there most of my life, so let the light in somehow, I trust in the energy of the world and one day find someone to share my life with that really does care. I will make it my mission to do so because I have seen enough darkness and I now need the light to go on. Help each other to find the switch.

I still feel lonely at times but have come to realize this is my being. Since 2012’s awakening, more people can hear me, but there is still the assumption that my life is perfect, and I do not need people. I am a loner in many things, and because I can be the life of the party, I confuse people as they think I have it all. I am at peace with my aloneness and really do value it, but I feel it most when I am in a crowd, just because I simply do not fit in, this is how it is, I found my tribe online and know that I am excepted as me and a part of a cyber family of friends. For now, I do enjoy my work and commitment to the next phase of Self Discovery Media/Orchard of Wisdom’s development, that being alone will be a treat.

Tales of the Cocktail: Where spirits live

308285_3499606503289_1726118527_n

July 2010 New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA)
• Tabytha Towe
This city is legendary, known for its big nightlife, it’s history and untold secrets. It’s home to the good ol’ jazz and blues and lies on the Mississippi River, where the 2009 Super bowl champs “The Saints” (who dat) play.

It’s famous for infamous Mardi Gras parties, a city with mystical voodoo magic, chasing the green fairy, watching ladies dance on poles and/or on laps, a State of outrageous, tropical storms, the birthplace of the original Sazerac and Vieux Carre cocktails, classic bayou hot sauce in the lovely French Quarter.

It was an extremely last minute decision for me to just jump on board to this elaborate convention, and not just any bartenders affair, but the head honcho of bartenders, mixologist and aficionados affair. So it certainly was not a hard decision. To have the chance to learn more about cocktail culture down South by some of the worlds’ famous owners and representatives and bartenders *scu as Tony Abou-Ganam, Dave Wondrich, Simon Ford, Charlotte Voisey, Dan Warner, the impressive list just goes on – – – I mean, come on, it’s a no-brainer! Fortunately, I managed to book a plane ticket and even yet still make the very flight my friends and colleagues were on.

With a lack of sleep from the early morning flight, a team of 6 of us arrived in NOLA at 10.30am to excruciating heat and a bustling vibe. Our Astor Hotel’s lobby was beautiful in itself and was located right beside the infamous Bourbon Street where you can eat a crayfish po’boy, support the strippers, listen to live music on the street and shop for souvenir masquerade masks all within an hour. Seminars for “Tales of the Cocktail” were between the gorgeous ‘Hotel Monteleone’ (the one with the Carousel Bar that created the Vieux Carre) and ‘The Royal Sonesta’ (the one with the roof top pool) just a few blocks apart (a short, tipsy stroll back and forth from each other). I personally did not manage to make it to every seminar, there were so many happening all the time and at the same time, however was grateful to get in to as many as I did. Peers from my work place would go to other talks and we would exchange notes, ie: ‘How to be interviewed by print, tv or radio’ – this lecture delegates that you gather info, develop product and story, set your goals, be quick and efficient, understand your format and profile, grab attention and woo your audience. Little tidbits from the professionals with sound advice. So if you’re ever on television and being asked about your drink, don’t panic!

‘The Mastery of Wisdom Behind the Bar’ – First off there are 3 categories: the “mixologist”, the “sage” and the “rock star”. These are there to teach us about right-action techniques through self-observation and objective evaluation through a conscious effort based on these characters. We all know what a mixologist does, but the theory in foresight is that he/she creates an experience for a guest that gives them an alibi and possibility of something about to happen to them.

The sage is wise and keeps your intentions working from a detached self. The rock star is the confident and charming persona that helps attract guests to trust them and return. Dushan Zaric is right I have to say. Basically, his food for thought is to be aware of all three characteristics, and importantly, not to jump to conclusions, not to judge and try not to be negative. Be conscious of your thoughts and emotions when you are working the bar, it reflects your attitude and business otherwise.

“Shaken, not stirred” – James Bond

I would never have understood the ‘Science of Stirring’ had I not gone to check out these nerds that actually experiment with the temperature of their drinks at various lengths. It was rather long yet entertaining and informative, especially when one guy froze his hands in the liquid nitrogen and swore out loud repetitively, proving his point no less. Optimal dilution is created where the surface area of ice is not as important as the result of what’s released from inside. Melting has more energy at -0 degrees (below). Therefore the faster you stir (about 20 seconds) the colder your drink will get. There is lower dilution in stirring as opposed to shaking, and it is less aggressive and more effective as a cooling agent. Sadly I was extremely hung over for the rest of this interesting debate, as I woke up when it was over! At a different seminar, my colleagues and I actually tried a new trend in technique for freezing methods, which has become popular in Melbourne, Australia, using liquid nitrogen. It sure does freeze well, but too much so that our frozen Mint Julep was nearly too cold it actually burnt our tongues. Pretty cool (pun intended) to see how it was made however and all the condensation steaming through the machine.

Your mommy –

D’arcy O’ Neil has researched the dynamic of ‘Umami’. Basically a 5th flavour sense and how it can affect flavour responses in people. It can release hedonic pleasure signals in the brain, the part that also relates to orgasms 🙂 Umami means delicious in Japanese and was discovered in 1908. The flavour (for example, msg contains vegetable, aroma, richness, salt) is predominantly noticeable as savoury or meaty and triggers gastrofacial responses, which means, instinctual expressions upon taste such as the ‘yucky’ face after trying something you don’t like. Neurobiology is very significant in cocktails, as you can see when so many Canadians like to drink or even crave a Bloody Caesar. Mmmmm, yummy umami.

I love liquor, I do, and there is so much more to learn it’s insatiable. Finding how complicated a concoction can be and the beauty of how it became is intriguing. Right down from what region something came from, to how it got exported, the history behind Prohibition era and what it has done for us in the now, to the exact measurements it would require to conjure up this specific alcohol, a signature recipe, it’s like creating science and a whole story. Just like each bottle holds its own; every bartender has their own style or special ingredient they deliver. When I say style it can mean flair or a trademark, a spiel, an extra dash of a specific bitters to make it their special way. Look at Hendrix Gin for a minute; typically all gins (whether it be traditional old English or nouveau century) have that exceptionally recognisable juniper berry ingredient, the essence of which is prominent in gin recipe. Even as a mixed drink you taste it and even if you aren’t familiar with the berry, you know the drink because of this flavour sensation right away. Hendrix follows a standard recipe but adds their own botanical elements to enhance it with cucumber, rose, elderflower, lavender and chamomile so that on the nose you get a bouquet aroma. If you think about it, 80% of taste is really from the smell. The smell goes to your brain and sends responses, euphoric hopefully. And indeed amongst every sensation you get physically, there is so much more to the drink in front of you than just a mixture of product, there is always a worthwhile story and history behind every drop that is to be appreciated with your order.

Imagine having such a great, stand up drink than having fun with it and mixing it with other liquors, oils, fruit, herbs, citrus, sugar, love etc….it’s endless and amazing what you can do to make cocktails unique. Take for instance a ‘Negroni’, a classic and a favourite. Gin based (we already know the flavour) Campari, which adds bitter, and Sweet Vermouth (either Carpano Antica, Cinzano, Martini Rosso, etc) to add sweet. Resulting in a well-rounded and full balanced drink, except the specs are always equal parts, and if you don’t do that, the drink will not be proper. Add an orange peel zest, and voila, the godsend in a glass. Just the tiniest mishap of measurements being off in your procured cocktail can change or dictate the entire taste or dynamic of it. So you see, that’s why these specialities are an especial hit with me; it’s fun to understand more to appreciate more. Having a cocktail is also as an event in which to share with friends and strangers whilst sipping, exchanging conversation, a full endurance, not a rushed ordeal. However, as a lady of liquor I do also love the traditional and straight up -thank you bourbon on the rocks and gin and tonic!

“Okole malana” – Hawaiian for ‘bottoms up

I speak for myself when I say that my interests were in other areas for attending seminars. Missed the ‘Prohibition’ and ‘Green Hour’ talks, which would have been ridiculously interesting, however, walked into a few others. I don’t own my own bar so going to ‘Top Revenue Building’ speeches did not essentially apply to me. Although going to a ‘Tiki bar’ seminar was fun because of the history, rise, downfall and now re-born again exotic, concept. It holds some appeal to me considering from time to time I work on a tiki bar mixing wonderfully obliged rum-based and other, delicious cocktails. I tend to be quirky and enjoy being festive, so tentatively Polynesian and Jamaican themes are cheeky and the decor, even more, ground to play with. But realising how far you can go with rum (dated back to 350 years) and what you can play with when it comes to cocktails in tropical variations – pineapple, mango, citrus etc., – is almost mind altering. With rum you have your white, dark and amber, and each is identifiably different, for example: the darker it is, the sweeter it is due to the more charred barrels they use in making them.

Don Beachcomber was the founder of this nautical idea for the then revolutionary franchises in the 1950’s. He started the classic tiki cocktails used today, however, the era died out and hence drinks like the ‘Test Pilot’ inspired by world war 2 became nearly forgotten; but a new wave has created a craze again and now these classic delectables are re-named and re-born. It was astonishing to see how that particular seminar was over packed, like there were not enough seats.
Industry hounds were all over it. So perhaps it is making a bigger impact on the world of business and is going to make a huge come back… I won’t wear a grass skirt behind the bar, but maybe a flower in my hair or I’ll let a guest once in a while (not that kind of lay!)

At the end of the day, having tried more-than-a-few samples during seminars and running back and forth between hotels, already hung over from the extravagant party the night before, you’re magically ready to drink more cocktails all night long again because they are so darned irresistible. One night my fellow friends and I had to try 15 Milagro Tequila variations of a margarita influence. We were definitely becoming under the influence ourselves as we had half an hour to try them all then vote on our favourite mixologist of the event. After that we had a Grand Marnier party to attend of course called “The Bartenders Brawl”, (sounds inviting doesn’t it 🙂 So no big deal, just a couple of elaborate parties here and there!

A few days in, after multiple concoctions and melting from the extreme Louisiana humidity, booze pours out of your pores the more you sweat; so I was ready to have a good old-fashioned beer. I enjoy cocktails, but on a hot day barley, hops, yeast and water do the trick, especially when you get three for the price of one! That’s absurd now. I would be a fat drunk if I lived with all the cheap, fried food and beer specials (I was not complaining mind you!) I had wanted to frolic more of the wondrous city and get more of a Southern city feel, however, time did not allocate leisure time for the streetcar tours or sight-seeing old neighbourhoods. I really wanted to see an old man sitting on a porch swing outside an old, character house, smoking a pipe and playing a harmonica. Never got to see that, maybe next time. Maybe 30 years ago that was witnessed more often. Poor NOLA, the devastating hurricane Katrina, biggest oil spill known in the history of man of the Gulf of Mexico affecting their waters and fisheries industry, thus resulting in a bit of an economic depression; a city of lost souls yet with an abundance of soul. I would have loved to experience its liveliness back in the day. You can see what a vibrant city it once was and it yeah it does still have that magic, but a sense of something tragic and missing at the same time. The touristy areas were full of fun, but also dirty and you would constantly get whiffs of, well, very unpleasant smells. I gagged a few times walking those streets. Nevertheless, I would still go back and walk up and down those same smelly streets in a heartbeat.

‘The Blues means somebody you love don’t love you’. I saw that quote at a bar once. Was lucky to see some great live performances, mostly street bands where you can’t help but jig on the street with them. They were a full-on jazz orchestra! My friend and I found a random day band that in Toronto would probably be a busy headliner, the guitarist was fantastic and they played dirty old rock and blues to merely a dozen people smoking in the bar. Man, that talent should have packed the house!

I’m not a good gambler, though I made it out of the Casino in 30 minutes having won a dollar extra back on my losses, phew. I also got to rodeo a whale (that’s right, a wicked, spinning, bumping whale) at a pretend surf bar and actually chaffed myself on the rope between my legs whilst attempting to hold on for dear life riding it…that whale was a real jerk! (get it?) I also watched some sexy, talented strippers and some really awful ones that looked as if they could almost vomit on stage; *down the strip there are plentiful clubs, no doubt some classier than others; Hustler being one where we were invited to swim in the pool (yikes – more like cesspool) and watched in awe one place that had a sign reading “1000’s of hot women, and 3 ugly ones.” I and 2 others of the crew were also lucky to get spontaneous tattoos! A great way to end the trip no doubt. The shop was closing in about 20 minutes so the three of us jumped on board to get inked right there and then with Sailor Jerry inspirations. I got a wee anchor on my wrist, the one that’s on the 40 oz bottle cap of that tasty, 92% proof rum.

I wish I didn’t get so blasted our first night at the Alice in Wonderland themed party (put on by Beefeater) as the Welcome Reception. I forgot to claim a prize for (by default) winning with my mate a round of silly, drunken croquet. Though in retrospect I only ate three oysters all day and was on 2 hours sleep, but the party was absolutely grand and did not end there. A bus picked us up out of nowhere, like a magic bus, and took us to a beautiful house that had the likes of anything from Sailor Jerry and Solerna offerings in many twists and shakes. They also had a funky, outdoor brass band in the yard. It was so very grand. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves that first evening, maybe I did too much, especially on an empty stomach…. I fell up the stairs on the bus back and had to eat a falafel.

In between, we went swimming on hotel rooftop parties, provoked people to jump in with us or else get squirted with our water gun. It was so hot, as if a bit of cold water would harm you! We ate po’boy sandwiches, wondered to the market, went to antique shops, photographed the beautiful architecture and scenes painted behind a stunning canvas of a city with a lot to offer. Sadly, our last evening of our new found beloved had to come to an inevitable end. But not without an amazing Izakaya dinner, random tattoos and one last, late gala!
Our flight was at 4 am and there was also a category #4 hurricane predicted earlier on in the week. There was massive rain so we were getting a little excited (myself more so that flights would be cancelled and we could stay an extra day, not so much of our safety), but within hours it became reduced to a tropical storm and therefore the airports were perfectly fine, *much to my dismay, but that is my being selfish.

As someone who works in the industry I know I do it for the love of every day being different, the love of people, and as a bartender, making someone feel better, guiding them, listening to them, sometimes entertaining them and laughing with them. I find that knowledge is constant and infinite and the people you interact with are the reason why you get into this type of business. I like both aspects, the social part and the service part, where I get to build drinks, make drinks, set up, present and see someone cheers before they sip and smile after they swallow. I personally am a very beginner at mixology, I can do classics and basics, but haven’t deserved my 101 yet, it takes a lot of time, research, patience, money and of course, passion. Do hope to get a better understanding of this compelling world of spirits, and each day I work or go home or to another bar and try new things, I realise all the more of merriment. I also hope that everyone has had the full bartenders’ experience in their life as a guest and has tampered with their intuition of taste and pleasure. Passion is key for any recipe, the rest are ingredients you use to aluminate and grasp your senses to enjoy and appreciate with every story, sip, lesson and moment shared over a glass. To New Orleans and all of the incredible educators and purveyors of ‘Tales of the Cocktail 2010’
I very much thank-you and without a doubt, I’ll be back.

To the rest of you – Cheers!!!

Positive Vibrations

The world needs desperately good vibrations.

We are living in a downward spiral and if we do not stop this it will continue till the end of this planet. We do have the power within us to change, mother earth is pissed at us, but all life is energy and if we can elevate our own energy then we may just be able to aid this poor planet into staying around for us.

As Carol King said, “We have to get up every morning with a smile our FACES AND SHOW THE WORLD ALL THE LOVE IN OUR HEARTS“. We must stay upbeat no matter how beaten down we feel. We must give a dam and not relinquish to someone else. We must believe in something greater than ourselves and we must come together as a community a village and help each other out and not turn away. A problem shared is a problem solved; it is time to get back to the sharing of pain, hope, love, life, planet and populations. For if we do not then we will pay the price with our lives.

let-your-heart-feel-the-song-of-life

No matter what is going on in our life good or bad, make an effort each day to be kind, caring and considerate to some else. When we take the time to value some else it reflects back on us with an elevation of good vibrations. If we all make the effort each and every day and add to it every day, this good vibe will flow into the air and be contagious lifting other people’s spirit and igniting them to follow and create the good vibrations themselves.
Turn of the news (especially Fox news) Reach out to those that need us, start with your loved ones, a smile instead of a scowl, an acknowledgment of something great they have done instead of a reprimand. Give a reason for them to pass a good feeling forward for a proud smile goes a very long way.

We can make a difference; it is a CHOICE then an action on that choice. Don’t be a part of the problem but look to be a part of the solution. Don’t feed the pain but fuel solution. We can take back our lives our planet and our positive way of living, just DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEGATIVE, JUST DON’T LET IT IN.’

Sing it out loud, say it clearly, speak to your heart and soul and believe in something greater than yourself, and ask the Gods/DIVINE ENERGY for guidance to a more harmonious way of living. Send out the good vibrations and make this world into a better place to live.

What makes a woman and who decides?

I am very tired of (happy) designers who have taken our femininity away from us by making us look like boys in girl’s clothes. Skin and bone duff not maketh a woman, we are meant to have shape.

Do you remember ladies, when we were growing up, how we could not wait for a bust or some shapely curves that marked us as woman? Now all I see representing us are flat chested boy’s waist, no hips, and gawky legs.

images

The big (generally fat) bosses at the movie and T.V studios are dictating that women in the media’s eye should all be skinny with boyish bodies, and the magazines with all they’re airbrushing makes all look so unreal.

Why do women out there buy into this crap????????? Why are you letting some anorexic or homosexual person (no I am not homophobic) you decide whether you are beautiful or not??????? Why are you chiseling your bodies to look like men?? Why is a robust woman considered fat????

Who decides this, THEM OR YOU? You decide your sex appeal you decide if you feel sexy if you feel womanly, not them. If you are a little on the heavy side do what you have to do for your health, a robust woman can and does look fabulous in the right clothes and with the right attitude.

Sex appeal is all an attitude, our attitude. When we walk into a room, the impression we want to make is that we are women can you make us roar? We can feel very sensual without a man (no we are not lesbians unless we are meant to be) We are comfortable in our own skin and sensuality and do not need to be based around sex. Being a woman is about how we feel about ourselves. Do we turn ourselves on? Do we feel the empowerment of being a woman? Do we relish it? Or do we let others decide if we are sexy or womanly enough for them?

Do they know? People, I mean what is sexy? When you have got undernourished girls out there bring airbrushed on magazines, and actresses starving themselves to look like scarecrows, do men know what a real woman looks like? they rarely see one. They have been told that anyone over a size 3 is large and unsightly. Can you blame the male species from being confused?

I know that not all women are the same, and that there are many beautiful women that are tiny naturally, and they have sex appeal. Large woman can look drop dead gorgeous too. Being a woman has nothing to with size,

NOTHING. It is to do with our own self-value, and not the values that are put upon us by society who is dictated to by the fashion industry and the entertainment business.

Gentleman, please do not look at us as a “show and tell” item. If you can bed us them you can be proud to be seen with us out in public. If you obsess over a woman’s weight, then you need to question why that is, because that is your hang up not theirs. If you think that all women should look like the current actress then you are dull and boring.

Life is a variety of things and of people, we are all made very differently, and in our own uniqueness we all have something to give that certain someone, something special, our compassion and our sensual love.

We all like a pretty package that is why I am in the business of esteem building. We all want to look our best, but with the designers designing for their own image, anyone over-size 0 has no chance to dress sexy and alluring because the real choice of clothing to wear. All the shops go up to size (tiny) 14 and after that good luck in finding any thing snazzy or sexy, there is only frumpy, which makes us grumpy (sorry could not resist).

I invite all designers in the Vancouver British Columbia Canada and around the world, to design clothing for the millions of beautiful sensual woman here who would love to have something to wear. I also invite all designers elsewhere in the world to get real, and start designing real clothes for all shape and sizes of women, You must also insist that the magazines show them. Get real actresses to wear them and give some hope to women and young girls all over the world, that shapely or heavy is not BAD, but womanly. It has been that way for eternity.

Women rebel, Write to the media mongrels, and insist that they stop putting the abnormal pressure on a woman, to lose weight just to fit into their image. Weight lose is a serious thing, and must be done wisely it is also a multi billion dollar industry, so they feed your insecurity to make them rich.

Fitness is good, but dieting to death just to fit into an image your body type is not designed for, is deadly and soul-destroying. Eat wisely, exercise wisely, and get rid of the heavy weight in your heart, and the negative image you have of yourself. Because you don’t deserve it. Do not judge your self nor allow anyone else judge you. Aspire to grow in your spirit, in your attitude to life and in your love of your self just the way you are.

Give me time, I will find true designers that really know how to design for us womanly women, both big and small. The Tyra Banks, show, stands for the real woman, as does her America’s next top model, a plus size (real women size) model just won this year.

Men I know that you are under some pressure to look great too, with six-pack abs and bronzed bodies constantly thrown in your faces. Understand this, we love a guy who looks after himself, clean, healthy, not too heavy. But most of all we want an understanding non-judgmental and loving honest man. It is all about an attitude towards life, women, children, and our fellow-man.

I know that there will be some people out there who will disagree with me OR AGREE WITH ME. Please do write back, and tell me your opinion, as I was in the business of fashion I would love to know other people’s side of it.

Sensuality with your own style and confidence in your self.

BE CALM, RELAX. AND TUNE IN.
All the signs your life needs to flourish are out there waiting for you to see them. Listen and the questions will be answered. There is nothing more irritating than talking to someone who is looking at you but not listening. Clear your mind, tune all other things from your mind and tune into what is being said to you.
My word what a concept, just tuning into one thing at a time. My how your knowledge of things grows and you’re understanding. There is something inside of you telling you what to do. Amazing isn’t it? Listening to your inner self and tune into your outer environment is great because it clarifies many things that you have been confused about, the answers are always there, you just have to listen to them to hear them.
You do not have to do everything today, one thing at a time, it makes for a job done well and for more appreciation of the doing of it.
Your soul speaks to your heart which ignites your spirit into action and then it hits the mind, the mind is in a divines soul is a knowingness and in will be in no doubt of what is in front of you.
Deep breath, feel your thoughts do not think them, relax and let the knowledge of the Universe speak to you as it is your celestial signpost.

When you rush things you cannot do the job well. When you short change yourself you cheapen the value you put on yourself and others in your life. Think of yourself as a retirement plan, a well planned and good investment makes for a harmonious retirement.
Invest in yourself with time, energy and values. There is no quick fix, no shortcuts, time is all you have, so use it wisely and learn to trust your instincts by listening to the world around you. The universe is shouting at you to listen and learn, so there is no time like the present to begin. Stop what you are doing, relax, tune out the noise to tune in and trust what comes to you. It takes time to do this with ease but with practice, it becomes second nature and a must. Some people take up Yoga; meditation, walking, singing, dancing, writing, communicating, others can do it by listening to classical music, some like to run, ski, fly, explore. First find that space that speaks to you and tune in, find a way to slow down. Stretch your arms outside to side so that you can feel the very end of your fingertips. Dance the blues away with sultry tangos or energy releasing salsa. No matter what you do, you must feel alive doing it. When you feel that life energy running through your veins that is when you start to feel your life has meaning. REMEMBER THERE IS NO QUICK FIX. You get out of life what you put into it. You must enjoy all its flavours one at a time to appreciate it.
So are you going to slow down and tune into yourself? And are you going to make an effort to listen to what others have to say? Most importantly, are you going to try to listen out and watch for the signs they are there to guide you. It is all up to you, try it and see, you never know it just might work. Remember a person who values themselves will also value others around them.

Harmony to us all.

Self Discovery is Celebrating 9 years

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy

It is hard for me to believe that I have had my own Podcast network for 9 years now. I had no idea of what I was doing when I first started out, and over the years I have created my own style in interviewing, show postings, and platforms to view and hear on. It has been quite an adventure and one I still love doing.

I have hoped to be further ahead with certain things, like my Orchard of Wisdom site and the Fund-Action program and the second book; but life has a way of either redirecting you and slowing you down, and some of those goals have not been met yet, but I do hope soon.

When I first started out I had Bill who edited my audios for me and put them up on SoundCloud, and when I ran into issues, he would help, but as of around early 2016 I was on my own and had to learn fast. Now I do all the editing, audio files, video, show postings, graphics, sharing and etc and I do my very best to give my podcast guest and representation that serves all their info and show.

I want to do more, but simple for one person there is no more time, each show is about a 5 hour production and I do anything from 4-8 shows a week, that is before the sharing. I have also created 3 more platforms. Mentorships where coaches can share their skills and program’s that serve you the audience. Practitioners, those who offer hands on programs, and Supporting the Supporters, where we support the organizations who are doing exemplary work in supporting others.

We already have on E-Book, but I hope by years end to have a collaborative book on our Forgotten Children series out too. Hopefully by the time this goes live, my new site will be up Orchard Of Wisdom where all our programs will be laid out will be up. It all depends on chiseling through some tech issues of which is not my strength.

So as I go into this new year of exploration and continue to bring you the most awesome liberating and illuminating people to inspire you, guide you and empower you, join me and help us get there even faster. I do all my shows via donation, some people are very generous, some not. We are on Patreon where you can support the SHOWS, the POD-BOOKS, the FUND-ACTION program, we ask humbly for your support so we can continue to bring these shows and the Pod-Books and much more. You can give a one time donation on the blue donate button, of go to Patreon and support us there on any or all our programs, every drop fuels the productivity.

You are not just donating, you are building up hope and solutions for those in need.

A Dream Long Dreamt

quotation

Over the years I have dreamt of creating certain things, now closer to the possibility of making it happen, I am looking at the collective picture to make happen.

I believe if we bring the business world and the wellness world together in ethical, dignified, respectful, and enlightened collaboration, we would unit the good vibrations this world needs to move forward into global well-being productivity.

Back in 2001 when I started The Art of Positive Living, I desired a large old house that would provide holistic services for those willing to embrace a new path to wellness. In this house were an aromatherapy room, a massage room, a yoga room, an acupuncture room, an intuitive room, an inferred sauna room, a child care room for parents, a social guidance therapy room, and a juice bar with healthy snacks room.

It would have been members only and would have allowed 20% of its participant’s free to allow access to people like Mums, Dads, caregivers, and the homeless who need it and can’t afford it.

A dream not yet realized but still obtainable.

I also dreamt of a community where holistic, alternative lifestylers and practitioners would live and work. Not a hippie commune but a professional healing arena and training ground for people to come to in order to heal and healers to learn how to heal and grow their own businesses.

I achieved that in a different way through Self Discovery Media and Orchard of Wisdom where we have set the stage of abundant wisdom to illuminate, guide, and support people on their life’s journey.

Having now perswonally interviewed over 2800+ people who are doing great things for people in the world, I know the one thing lacking is a PLACE for like souled, minded and spirited people to come and embrace their like collaborators and expand on their personal gifts.

I have over the last 10 years, built a platform with an abundance of wisdom, skills, knowledge, and passion that will enable others to grow into their own abundance. In each show, each person interviewed is the inspiration that invites us to know that we can become the person we hope to be if we are willing to invest time, love, and energy into our own processes in life.

My philosophy is always to seed others in their own productive possibilities, which in turn helps mankind grow by building stronger communities. A portion of the overall proceeds from our pod books, shows, Mentors, Practitioners, plus, goes back into the community giving opportunities to those who need care guidance, and hope whose budget does not allow for it. This is my Fund-Action Program that will be ignited this year.

Self Discovery Media has led me to some extraordinary people doing wonderful things for the people and the planet, and as a possibility seer, I see lots of cohesive collaborations with many. BUT, if they do not see it or feel it, or do not wish to pursue it, then it is a no-go.

So I keep my fishing rod out there, always looking for those collaborations, those potential co/ventures, sponsors, and soul alignments that could propel any of us forward into that bigger picture.

Globally we are each doing our own thing, but by weaving our thread together we can have a blanket of hope, possibilities, actions and production with a solid foundation to grow and unit on.

I have asked the universe to send me such innovative active souls who share a similar vision so we may start building a foundation in which to build all those possibilities.

So far I have people who see the bigger picture and share a desire, and people who could build it, and many of those who will use it. Now like a good piece of music, we need to bring it together in harmony and produce a musical piece that inspires illuminates and invites all those who are ready to take action in building a better life for themselves and a stronger world for us all to live in.

Here I go, leap of faith, for I believe in my meaningful purpose and the journey it took to get here. I am ready to make this vision a reality, I am open to partnerships with those who share the dream and step forth in action, I am in joy to know that this will build a safe haven for all those who wish to embrace their soul, heart, spirit freedom and become part of the solution to the world’s problems.

It all starts with us, within us and because of us, let this be the platform that unites us all in unity and dignity and meaningful global purpose.

Here goes
